Pilot Point Christian Academy
Our History
The Pilot Point Christian Academy originated as the Calvary Kid’s Club, a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church formed in 1996 when some parents of young children in our church discerned a need for quality, Christian Child-care for families in our community. For years, providing week-day childcare has been a part of the ministries of many churches that attempted to meet the needs of families in which both parents work, families of a single parent, families in which parents may, occasionally, need free time or families in which the parents want their pre-school child to be exposed to other children in a structured, Christian environment. Calvary Kid's Club was very successful in meeting these needs for many years.
On August 20, 2008, Calvary Baptist Church voted to restructure and upgrade the Calvary Kid's Club by changing the Kid's Club into a Christian Academy. Our church voted to change the name to Pilot Point Christian Academy. Under new leadership, the school began to use ABEKA curriculum for all classes and have the structure of a fully functioning Christian school. We currently provide weekday care for children age two months to five years, as well as before and after school care for kindergarden through sixth grade.
Our Purpose
Calvary Baptist Church and Pilot Point Christian Academy exist for the purpose of glorifying God through Christ-centered, Bible-based, Spirit-empowered and mission-minded ministry. It is the desire of this church and school to minister to all people, members and non-members alike, by:
Introducing them to Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord God and Friend.
Being sensitive to their spiritual, emotional and physical needs.
Encouraging them toward spiritual maturity.
Providing opportunities for building relationships.
Being prepared and available to help and assist them in any way.
The purpose of the Pilot Point Christian Academy ministry is to strive to do all of the above in the context of providing weekly/daily childcare and Christian education for all those who choose to enroll their children in our academy.
Our Objectives
It is our desire to provide a school in which each child receives constant, loving care and guidance toward forming basic Christian attitudes pertaining to God, themselves, their parents, peers, teachers and the environment. We want to recognize and consider the individual needs of each child and provide opportunities and experiences to help them grow and develop physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Our goal is to give each child the opportunity to:
Develop scholarship in each student, a desire to continue to grow intellectually.
Develop values in each student, a desire to continue to grow spiritually.
Develop character in each student, a desire to continue to grow morally and uniquely.
